City of longwood Chambers
Attendees - Judith Benson, Ariel Gaussart, Scott Sturgill, H. Alexander Duncan
Absent - none
The meeting was called to order by Chair, Judith Benson at 5:29 PM
Rick Newberg, resident of casselberry Fl presented the board with information pertaining to low
volume of Lake Tony and his request for a weir at an existing storm water or drainage canal. Additional
comments and data were provided by Kelly Brock of City of casselberry and Mike Flomerfelt of Seminole
County, Brian Fields of City of Winter Springs was not present. Open discussion indicates additional
information is necessary and Mr. Newberg will poll neighbors to identify local interest in pursuing this
David Millard of NRCS presented a report of In-Kind Services provided to Seminole County for the period
of 1/15 - 2/18/2013 totaling $2128. David mentioned NRCS's watershed program may be useful to Mr.
Newberg's situation as well as other local issues (watershed program)
Old business -
Storage space. Determination was made that all supervisors would meet on March 7'" to bring account
current, open the storage locker and examine contents.
Website - no discussion but noted $240 past due as of October 2012
New business -
Vacant Supervisor Group 3 - Chair Benson suggested that adequate announcement of the open position
should occur. Discussion led to a determination that this would be completed on SSWCD's Facebook
group page. Randy Garrett and Benjamin Paris were in attendance and presented themselves noting
interest in obtaining appointment by the board and were requested to attend Ma"rch 19th
Benson advised supervisors that an interim secretary was necessary to complete transfer of
authorization for bank accounts. After discussion, Benson called for motion to appoint Duncan as
interim Secretary was completed by Sturgill with a second by Gaussart. Bank documents were
Casselberry Earth Day April 27 - discussion completed regarding participation, all agreed. If educational
opportunity was available, V-C Gaussart agreed to create PowerPoint presentation.
The "Mayor's Challenge" with Wyland Foundation was presented as an idea by Chair Benson. 7 cities to

Benson - Alt Spring & Winter Springs
Gaussart - Casselberry & longwood
Meeting was adjourned at 7:12 PM
