Producing new plastic from recycled material uses only two-thirds of the energy required to manufacture it from raw materials.
Plastics require 100 to 400 years to break down at the landfill.
Five 2-liter recycled PET bottles produce enough fiberfill to make a ski jacket.

localheroes.png2015 Poster Contest
Theme:  Local Heroes - Our Hardworking Pollinators

Seminole Soil & Water Conservation District and Conserve All Ways are seeking sponsors for our upcoming poster contest to be held county-wide in
Seminole County Public Schools and private schools within the county.

The theme, Local Heroes - Our Hardworking Pollinators, provides an educational opportunity for youth to better understand and help these beneficial and beautiful insects. One of the most beloved pollinator, the Monarch butterfly, once flourished in Central Florida with their numbers spreading as far north as Canada and then wintering in the Florida Keys and Cuba. Students will also learn why we need to help the bees, our most beneficial and hard
working pollinator.

Contestants will participate in five age appropriate ranges (K-1, 2-3, 4-6, 7-9, 10-12) locally winning cash prizes. Winners of the Seminole County competition move up to the regional competition with opportunities to advance to state and national competitions.

Without your help, the children of Seminole County may not be able to participate in this educational competition. We ask you consider which sponsorship level is appropriate for your organization or as an individual.

Thank you for your time, consideration and participation.
