Cover your pool
Simply covering your pool with a pool cover (otherwise known as a solar cover or thermal blanket) helps the environment in the following ways: it keeps both water and heat from evaporating at dramatic rates and it helps keep pool chemicals, if you use them, from polluting the air.

June 16, 2015 Meeting and Workshop Minutes


·                    Call to Order: 5:30pm


·                    Roll Call

o        All Supervisors present.


·                    Citizen Participation

o        None.


·                    National Resource Conservation Service Report

o        Report deferred to assist with leading SSWCD workshop.

o        Review of prior Long Range Plans from SWWCD and other District boards to assist with developing Long Range Plan for SWWCD.


·                    Chair’s Report

o        Chair requested from Secretary digital copies of prior minutes and agendas to insure compliance with Florida Sunshine requirements.

o        Discussion of contemplated new slogan for Seminole County – “Orlando North”


·                    Vice Chair’s Report

o        No report.


·                    Secretary’s Report

o        Motion by York to approve May 2015 meeting minutes; Motion seconded by Kendrick; Motion approved unanimously.

o        Motion by York to table approval of January 2015 meeting minutes to incorporate additional information from Public Relations Report based on provision of additional notes/memoranda from Duncan; Motion seconded by Duncan; Motion approved unanimously.

o        Motion by York to approve/ authorize expenditure of $25 to obtain new SSWCD logo from Hedrick, LLC; Motion seconded by Duncan; Motion approved unanimously.

o        Discussion on soliciting additional, new logo for Conserve All Ways, LLC for $25. York agreed to follow up on new logo design with Hedrick, LLC.


·                    Treasurer’s Report

o        Discussion of current SSWCD finances.

o        Discussion of Family Movie Night project, specifically The Lorax.


·                    Public Relations Report

o        Discussed attendance at Development Review Committee meeting

o        Discussed UCF retirement community project in the Oviedo area.

o        Extensive discussion of “the Freedom Plan”


·                    Old Business

·                    Workshop

o        Extensive discussion on potential projects for SSWCD for 2015-16 geared towards developing a Long Term Plan for the District.
