Cover your pool
Simply covering your pool with a pool cover (otherwise known as a solar cover or thermal blanket) helps the environment in the following ways: it keeps both water and heat from evaporating at dramatic rates and it helps keep pool chemicals, if you use them, from polluting the air.

Allowed watering times:
12:00 midnight to 10:00 am, or 4:00 pm to 12:00 midnight.

Allowed watering days:
Thursday & Sundays = Even numbered and no numbered addresses.
Wednesday & Saturday = Odd numbered addresses.

SSWCD Board Meeting Minutes

Tuesday, December 13, 2016

Call to Order 6:09 pm


Roll Call - Supervisors Judith Benson, Ed Young, Donald Menzel, Justin York and David Mahnken present

Approval of Agenda - York moved for approval, seconded by Menzel; all in favor

Approval of November Minutes - Menzel moved to approve minutes, seconded by Young; all in favor

Swearing In Ceremony - Supervisors Menzel, Young and Mahnken sworn in by Judge Deborah Krauss

NRCS Report - Not in attendance

Chairs Report - Chair Benson discussed fertilizer ordinance status; taking with County and Cities to do landscape irrigation workshop; no CALNO meeting for December.

Vice Chair Report - Supervisor Menzel discussed RICHES program and request from Dr. Lester seeking a letter from the Board supporting Dr. Lester's grant application to the NHPRC (National Historical Publication Records Commission) submitted on December 6th.  The NHPRC will meet in May to review grant applications.  Supervisor Menzel also discussed his coordination with the Seminole County BCC regarding funding and space opportunities.

Treasurer Report - Reported account balances:  SSWCD - $49.48; Conserv All Ways, Inc.- $435.85.  Supervisor Young discussed the various fees charged by the bank and discussed opportunities to change banks to save money.

Secretary Report - Supervisor Mahnken asked about the recognition Poster Contest donors receive.  Supervisor Mahnken discussed meeting with Seminole County Commissioner Dallari regarding wetland ordinance and opportunity to update it.  Supervisor Mahnken discussed his meeting with residents of Lake Gore concerned with declining ecological quality of the lake system.  Supervisor Mahnken and the Board discussed attending County DRC meetings.

Public Relations Report - Supervisor York discussed his efforts in coordinating educators in the Seminole County School System to provide students with a series of presentations covering the various conservation issues regarding water supply, water quality, and other natural resources.  Supervisor York also discussed his interest organizing meetings with various HOA groups to provide educational outreach regarding conservation issues

Old Business - Supervisor Young discussed his outreach to other private schools to invite their participation in the poster contest.  Participants should get submittals in before the February meeting to allow time for judging and submittal of results to Area 3.  Supervisor Benson will be providing a list of items donors will get as recognition for their support.

New Business - Supervisor Benson requested a workshop be conducted following next meeting to re-evaluate five year plan objectives.
